Our Mission
Why We Exist
“To protect and conserve biodiversity and promote sustainable resource use to uplift socio-economic well-being, support research, development and extension for climate resiliency, and strengthen the management office’ capacity and stakeholders’ participation for present and future generations.”
Conservation Pillars
Six Commitments, One Forest
Biodiversity Conservation
We protect the full spectrum of life within park boundaries — from ancient hardwood trees and endemic orchids to threatened mammals and migratory birds. Active monitoring programs track population trends for 46 species of conservation concern, informing adaptive management decisions each season.
Watershed Protection
The Sibalom River watershed supplies clean water to over 200,000 people in Antique Province. The park serves as the primary recharge zone, and maintaining intact forest cover is the single most effective safeguard for water security in the region.
Habitat Restoration
Over 2,400 hectares of formerly degraded land within and around the park have been reforested using native species propagated at the park’s own nursery. Restoration sites are monitored for canopy closure, species diversity, and wildlife use over time.
Community Stewardship
Sustainable conservation is impossible without the people who live alongside it. We co-manage the park with 18 barangays and two indigenous peoples’ organizations, ensuring that protection efforts create — rather than restrict — opportunities for local livelihoods.
Science & Research
Partnering with universities and international conservation organizations, we maintain a living database of biodiversity observations that informs both local management and global understanding of Philippine forest ecosystems.
Climate Resilience
Old-growth forests are irreplaceable carbon stores. Sibalom’s intact canopy sequesters an estimated 4.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent — a contribution to climate stability that extends far beyond provincial boundaries.

How You Can
Help Protect Sibalom
Conservation at this scale requires collective commitment. Whether you visit, donate, volunteer, or simply talk about the park, you become part of its protection.
Visit Responsibly
The entrance, rentals, and donation fees collected were directly deposited to the SNP-IPAF account. 75% of which was deposited to the Retained Income Account (RIA) which can be used for Protected Area future development and 25% was deposited to the the Special Account for General Fund (SAGF).
Adopt a Tree
Sponsor a native seedling in our reforestation nursery for ₱500. Donors receive updates on growth and a digital certificate.
Support Research
Partner with us for biodiversity surveys, camera trap programs, and restoration monitoring. Opportunities for students and professionals.
Spread the Word
Share the park's story. Public awareness is the first line of defense against encroachment and illegal activities.
